Right now I'm listening to a Muddy Waters song called I'm Ready. And let me tell you, "I'm as ready as anybody can be. I'm ready for you and I hope you're ready for me."

If you made it this far, you already know that I finally made a website. Pretty cool, right?! I can't tell you why it took me so long to do it, but I can tell you that I'm stretching out my legs and arms because now I  have my own space to give updates (that don't feel like sleazy spam).

Since the start of this year, my recording career has been the busiest it has ever been. But...the milestones continue. At Mad Oak, I was lucky enough to work with one of my favorite artists of all time, The Magnetic Fields. Once the project is released, I can talk about it a bit more but for now I just get to ball up my fists and victoriously thrust them into the air.

I also started working with a new client, drummer extraordinare Marco Giovino (Robert Plant, Buddy Miller, Tom Jones, John Cale, Patty Griffin, etc). He has a super vibey  and comfy studio. In it the walls are lined with old cymbals and memorabilia of some of the greatest musicians that ever lived. How could that not be inspiring?  It has been a pleasure to get to know Marco and work on various projects for him behind the kit or in the producer's chair. As those records are released, more updates to come, but for now standby!!

I've also been busy working on an EP for the Boston local 7 piece hip-hop soul band, Baeja Vu. This EP, recorded both at Mad Oak and 37', is going to be their first ever official release and I'm so so stoked to share it. It has the groove and bounce of an old-school style married with modern fun and playfulness!! These guys came into the studio and absolutely KILLED it! I am eagerly expecting big things from this team.

My good pal, Zach Bloomstein, and I have been co-recording and producing an album for Cam Burke. This project is turning out to be gorgeous! Cam's angelic voice and guitar playing become even more interesting with his sometimes dark, sometimes ethereal melodies and chord progressions.

My band, Box of Birds, has been putting together a collection of recorded tunes in the studio too! We've got 10 songs in the works but we don't have a rushed deadline. We are taking our time to allow this one to capture the essence of the songs our friends and fans know and love. Stay tuned.

As mentioned, there will be more exciting stuff to share moving forward. I'm so happy to bring you along for the ride.

All the best,

Steph
